Sutton Stracke has apologised to Crystal Kung Minkoff in the aftermath of their well-publicised argument during a recent episode of the show.

‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’: Sutton Stracke Apologises To Crystal Kung Minkoff After Their Spat

The stars of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills got into a heated argument in the most bizarre of circumstances. In the background to all this, Kyle Richards and Garcelle Beauvais were engaging in a discussion over stereotypes. Crystal, for her part, chimed in with how she had experienced racial stereotypes by virtue of being from an Asian background.

But rather than be receptive to everyone’s concerns, Sutton was very brutal. She responded by suggesting that the rest of her cast-mates needed to toughen up. She stated: “Do you wanna talk about when I see dumbass rednecks on the TV, and that’s supposed to be me?…I also have a stereotype, but I don’t want to bring it up!”

Naturally, that insensitivity rubbed up Crystal the wrong way as they exchanged words. But looking back, Sutton regretted her actions. In a post to her fans on Instagram, Sutton held her hands up. She said: “It was disrespectful to interrupt her [Crystal] and not listen…My life is blessed by the diversity of my relationships, and I am committed to become a better listener.

“I am sorry. I will do better and be better.” So how did Crystal take the apology? Well, rather than what other housewives have done in the past, she accepted it wholeheartedly. This was primarily, in part, due to the danger of the cancel culture phenomenon. Whilst it is true to say that Sutton was at fault, Crystal may have also put herself into the firing line if she did not respond in a manner that was appropriate.

Luckily for herself and fans alike, it was a positive response. In her reply to Sutton’s comments, she remarked: “Thank you, Sutton. Your apology means a lot to me, and I’m sure it means a lot to many others with similar lived experiences.” It is great to see the duo putting this controversy to bed very quickly. 2021 has shown us that words can have significant consequences, regardless of one’s intent.
