Looks like everyone is slowly coming for Michelle Balero. First, she didn’t have the buckles that she was promising people, secondly, everyone thought that all of her kids were getting handed prizes like candy by judge Ty Chumbley, at one point the murmurs in the stands became so persistant that Michelle told Ty to just go sit in his car because she didn’t want them to be seen talking together.
Kannen Rihn, Jody’s son, was so upset by his loss that he had to be carrie out of the venue. When asked if he wanted to stay for the second show he wasn’t giving a definitive answer, one Tyler told him if he didn’t then they could get their money back, Kannen said “No you won’t.”
Pig Royalty – Sorry, no refunds!
Indeed, Michelle was trying to pull that with everyone. She straight up said that she was not refunding anyone their money. Unlike some real stage Moms who would force their kids to stay and win one for the gipper, Jody Rihn was actually really committed to leaving the show because she said that she had to protect her kids.
All of her kids were upset because they knew that the judging was rigged and that it wasn’t fair and even if there had been buckles to win, they wouldn’t be walking out with any of them that day. But in the end they ended up staying to get their money’s worth. Jody had to end up telling Kannen that he was showing for “the family” and not for the judge.
Michelle said that she was never going to organize another event ever again though because it was too much trouble. You can kind of see her point because instead of enjoying the event she organized she ended up in tears half the time because people were coming at her for their money back after they didn’t win anything.
Even her own kids came at her, but it doesn’t look like Michelle is going to take responsibility for that anytime soon. She said, “I can’t worry about who’s jealous” or what she did or didn’t do, it was pretty clear that she organized the event to maintain dominance among the Pig Showing crowd.
Interesting way of doing things. It’d be like if a moviemaker decided that not winning the Oscars was not acceptable and decided to organize their own awards show but only them and their cronies won the awards… actually, that sounds pretty plausible, but one wouldn’t expect it among a group of 4-H club pig show people.
