A man named Robert Chapman didn’t just strike out on the dating app, Bumble he got arrested after bragging about his involvement in the Capitol riots!

According to a female Bumble user, she struck up a conversation with Robert Chapman on the popular dating app where women make the first move. However, in the “getting to know you” part of the conversation, the user quickly found that she didn’t have a lot in common with Chapman.

Man Denied a Date For Storming the Capitol, and Ended Up Being Arrested!

“I did storm the Capitol” he bragged. “I made it all the way into Statuary Hall!”

The pick-up line did not serve him well. Not only did the Bumble user decide they were not a match, she decided to turn him in to authorities, providing law enforcement with a screenshot of their dating app conversation!

After the tip, more digging was done on Chapman and more incriminating posts- with photos- were found on Chapman’s social media. Prosecutors say in one Facebook post, Chapman wrote that he was leaving “the rotten apple” of New York (where he lives) to head “down to the District of Criminality to enjoy some much deserved entertainment.”

The next day Chapman posted a photo of himself at the riots along with the caption, “I’M F**KIN INSIDE THE CRAPITOL!!!”

Chapman has subsequently been arrested and charged with trespassing and disorderly conduct on restricted government property. Oh, and he was banned from Bumble, too.

According to a court filing, federal prosecutors said on Thursday, April 22 that over 400 individuals have been charged in connection with the attack on the Capitol attack. The investigation is said to be on-going with at least one hundred additional individuals expected to be charged.

So ladies, keep your eye out on your dating aps- generally look for the ones body painted in red, white and blue, wearing a Viking hat!
