Prince Harry and Meghan Markle supposedly clashed with their advisors behind the scenes before they told the world that they were stepping away from their roles as full-time members of the British Royal Family in a move that a lot of people have dubbed ‘Megxit.’
While Harry and Meghan might have told Oprah in their interview that they had no plan in place before their exit from the royal family, a new report contradicts those claims. Here’s what you need to know.
One source close to the royal couple says that Harry and Meghan apparently clashed with their advisors for over a year and that things got so bad, many people on their staff quit.
Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Clashed With Advisors Before Megxit Reveal
The tipster told The Telegraph, “There was a constant dialogue from the couple along the lines of: ‘Why can’t we do this? You can’t stop us from doing what we want to do.’”
What’s more, it is also being reported that the couple was planning their Megxit strategy in early 2019, as they had finalized a deal to produce content for Quibi, a now-defunct video streaming service that was poised to rival YouTube.
“They were calling the shots and would be the ones instructing the press office on what line to put out,” the Telegraph reported.
Yet, Prince Harry would like the world to think otherwise.
“The Netflix and the Spotify [deals]… that was never part of the plan,” Prince Harry told Oprah Winfrey in their bombshell of an interview. “We didn’t have a plan. That was suggested by somebody else by the point of where my family literally cut me off financially, and I had to afford… security for us.”
It was reported last year that Harry and Meghan did not give Queen Elizabeth a heads up about their Netflix deal. So far Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not made any comments about their Netflix deal of whether or not they have any similar projects in the pipeline.
