The producers of The Bachelor have blasted those responsible for the harassment directed at Rachel Lindsay in the aftermath of the Chris Harrison scandal. This has caused Rachel, in the meantime, to leave Instagram.
‘The Bachelor’ Spoilers: Producers Of The Show Come Out In Strong Support Of Rachel Lindsay
In an official statement, the producers said: “As executive producers of The Bachelor franchise, we would like to make it perfectly clear that any harassment directed towards Rachel Lindsay in the aftermath of her interview with Chris Harrison is completely inexcusable.
“Rachel has received an unimaginable amount of hate and has been subjected to severe online bullying, which, more often than not, has been rooted in racism. That is totally unacceptable.” It has been a difficult period for Rachel, who has received criticism for her stance in the whole saga. During this time, she has questioned whether Rachael Kirkconnell’s apology was all that sincere.
In addition, she revealed openly that Chris was not initially worried that much at his initial comments. This caused the internet to side against Rachel to the point that it has now become too much for her. This caused other Bachelor stars to come out and defend Rachel.
Nick Viall said: “It’s sad that this even needs to be said, but Chris Harrison is in the position he is in because of what he said, not because of anything Rachel did. If you want to support Chris while he is down, you should be able to do that without showing hate to anyone else.”
“I realize this is obvious to most people reading this, but if you are one of the people who have sent hateful or racist comments to Rachel, please take a serious look at what’s in your heart. Your priorities are seriously out of whack.”
Rachel has also had her husband Bryan Abasolo to support her through it all. It is clear that Rachel has benefited from his presence, and he offered his support for her on social media. In a post on his Instagram, he wrote: “I love you, I appreciate you, I believe in you, and I just wanted to let you know how proud of you I am. Keep going and never stop being you and fighting for what’s right.”
