Even though Irina Shayk and Bradley Cooper are no longer together, they still raise their 2-year-old daughter, Lea together.
And while they are doing a very good job of splitting up their parental duties and getting along for the sake of their child, if there’s one thing that Irina doesn’t want to call their arrangement, it’s co-parenting.
In fact, the Russian-born supermodel says that she absolutely despises the term. Here’s what she has to say. Speaking to Elle Magazine in a new digital cover story, Irina says that the overused term diminishes their role as parents.
Irina Shayk Hates The Word Co-Parenting
She puts it this way, “I never understood the term co-parenting. When I’m with my daughter, I’m 100 percent a mother, and when she’s with her dad, he’s 100 percent her dad. Co-parenting is parenting
And while Irina spent a lot of time with her ex Bradley, as they had dated from 2015 to 2019, that’s a relationship she simply doesn’t want to talk about anymore. Or rather, she would like to keep the details of it as private as possible.
“My past relationship, it’s something that belongs to me, and it’s private,” she said. “It’s just a piece of my inner self that I don’t want to give away.”
If that weren’t enough, Irina also says that she’s never read anything that has been written about her in the past and intends to keep it this way, too.
“I don’t read what is out there. Honestly, I’m too busy raising a child. If they want to write articles [about me], they’re doing their job,” Shayk said. “I’m concentrating on my life and my friends. The rest is just noise.”
