Something must be going on behind the scenes at CBS Studios and yes, fans want to find out what it’s all about. Now that The Talk has been put on hiatus for a second week, a lot of fans can’t help but wonder why Sharon Osbourne hasn’t been fired from the show yet.
The television personality had a rather heated discussion about racism with her co-host, Sheryl Underwood. Things got so bad that Sharon was forced to apologize for defending her friend Piers Morgan – despite his attacks against Meghan Markle – and even led the producers to put the show on hiatus. Here’s what you need to know.
Why Hasn’t CBS Fired Sharon Osbourne Yet?
According to reports, the show was due back this week, but the network has decided to extend the hiatus through at least next week as they try to figure out their next step and whether or not Sharon will continue to be a part of the show.
Of course, it didn’t take long for Sharon’s critics and detractors to weigh in on the matter on social media.
Many of them left comments such as, “My guess is that she has a very strong contract… what else could it be? She should’ve been fired straight away,” along with, “I think a few of them are refusing to come back unless Sharon is fired. I also think they have to make sure to have every legal loophole covered because Sharon will sue them and make things 10x worse.”
Another critic put it this way, “Not sure if she has some sort of partial ownership, stake or producer credit, deal with the network that goes beyond being ‘on the panel’ but there has to be some reason why they haven’t just canned her and moved on and why she felt so entitled to basically scream at the other hosts on TV without a second thought and the other hosts just sat there cowering.”
So far Sharon hasn’t made any comments about the show’s second week on hiatus, but she did admit that she doesn’t know what her own future holds.
“I wish we could go on and have a adult conversation calmly and work it out but I don’t know whether we can,” she said to ET Online last week. “I don’t know whether it’s gone past that. I would love to but I don’t know whether I even want to go back. … I don’t know whether I’m wanted there.”
