Love her or hate her, there’s no denying that Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, known professionally as Cardi B definitely makes a lot of sense here. The Bronx-born wrapper is telling parents to stop expecting celebrities to babysit their kids following all the backlash that she’s gotten for her rather controversial song, WAP. Here’s what she has to say.
Cardi B wants everyone to know that the “b” in her stage name certainly doesn’t mean ‘babysitter.’ She recently defended her song, WAP, as “music for adults” and not kids. She also took an aim at conservative parents by telling them to “stop expecting celebs to raise your kids.”

This comes after conservative pundit Candace Owens slammed Cardi B for her rather rauncy performance of WAP with Megan Thee Stallion at the Grammys over the weekend. Candace said that their routine was “an attack on American values, American traditions.”
Candace also said that performers like Cardi are “actively trying to make children aspire to things that are grotesque.”
She said, “It’s terrifying. I think parents should be terrified that this is the direction our society is heading towards,” Owens asserted. “We are weakening America . . . We are about to see the end of an empire. America cannot survive — it cannot be sustained — with these sorts of values.”
Cardi B, meanwhile, doesn’t seem to mind all of the free press that she’s getting right now. She wrote in a now-deleted tweet, “Yaaaayyyyyyy WE MADE FOX NEWS GUYS !!! Wap wap wap.”
“Matter fact I’m just going to thank Candy (Owens) She put my performance on Fox News giving it more views that boosted the views on YouTube and is counting towards my streams and sales,” she added.
