Even though Kevin Federline has about 70 percent custody of his two children, Sean Preston, 15, and Jayden James, 14, with Britney Spears, it seems like the chart topper is seeing less and less of her kids. But it’s not the reason you think. Here’s what you need to know.
According to Us Weekly, Britney is seeing less of her two sons but that’s not because of any legalities. Instead, it’s because Sean Preston and Jayden simply want to spend more time with their friends than their parents, as any teenager their age would do.
Britney Spears Sees Her Children Less Frequently Now
One source close to the situation even said that while Britney sees them periodically, she doesn’t have a set schedule with them.
The insider said, “She used to have more time with them until [her ex-husband] Kevin altered their custody arrangement after the incident with [her dad] Jamie. Since then, the boys’ visits have been less frequent. They spend most of their time at their dad’s house and have very few visits with their mom, especially overnight ones. … They are teenagers now and want to be with their friends, not their parents. It’s nothing against Britney; they love and idolize her, and Kevin trusts her. It’s just that they’re getting older, so when they’re not at their main home with Kevin, they’re usually out doing things with friends.”
Speaking of Jamie Spears, he most certainly does have a lot of control over his daughter’s life, much to the dismay of Britney’s fans.
Just last month it was reported that a Los Angeles judge has sided with Britney Spears’ legal team in giving a third party equal power to her father in managing the 39-year-old pop star’s finances.
Of course, a lot of fans are feeling rather dismayed over the news, seeing how they want Jamie Spears completely out of the picture.
But Judge Brenda Penny ordered her father and financial company Bessemer Trust to work together on a budget and investment plan for the singer. Jamie Spears had objected to the ruling, as this lessens his control over the state.
Britney’s attorney Samuel D. Ingham III addressed the court and said that he originally proposed the co-conservatorship between Bessemer and Jamie to give both parties “an equal division of responsibility, in the hopes that they would sit down and figure out together the best way to handle this complex estate for the benefit of my client.”
