Howard Stern Is Now Supporting Britney Spears Despite Mocking Her For Years

Could it be that someone might be having a few regrets here? Radio personality Howard Stern has gone on the record to say that he supports Britney Spears and the #FreeBritney movement, despite mocking her on his show for many years.

Stern compared some of her troubles and mental health issues to stars like Kanye West, Ozzy Osbourne, Charlie Sheen and a few more. Here’s what he has to say.

According to reports, it seems like Howard has changed his tune about one of the biggest pop stars that the entertainment world has ever seen. This comes after the release of the much-talked about documentary, Framing Britney Spears.

The doc highlights Britney’s ongoing conservatorship battle with her father, Jamie Spears. Referring to the growing #FreeBritney movement, Howard says that he supports the fans who believe that Jamie Spears might be suppressing his own daughter.

“I think I’m Free Britney now, I think I’m full on Free Britney,” Stern said on his Sirius XM radio show to his co-host Robin Quivers via Variety. “Ozzy [Osbourne] bit the head off of a bat in a business meeting,” Stern pointed out. “He’s in charge of his own finances.”

This comes after Howard Stern himself made fun of Britney Spears after she signed her $15 million dollar contract to be a judge on The X Factor in 2012. He not only questioned her abilities, but also planned to “tune in to see what kind of train wreck she is.”

“I think it’s a wonderful decision, Britney still thinks the Earth is flat,” Stern said. “Listen, I think we’re going to tune in to see her, if she can sort of function through the thing.”

“As far as any real criticism, I think Simon [Cowell] and L.A. Reid will be doing that. I think Britney is going to stand there and eat a lollipop and wear a sexy outfit. I don’t anticipate great opinions out of her,” he continued.

“I think she’s going to sit there like J.Lo and [say], ‘Oh, you’re wonderful. You’re terrific. Do you think I could get a perfume endorsement out of this? You think I could perform on the show?’ I think that’s what it’s about.”
