What do you title a reboot of a soap that has that title anyway? Just a thought. Since Pine Valley is getting a reboot, let’s visit the possibility of my favorite cancelled soap getting a reboot – One Life to Live. If this happens, we may just have to re-up our subscription to 2021 just to see what happens. Good distractions aside, let’s see how this might be done.
Of course we’d have to include Viki (Ericka Slezak) in the new incarnation of Llanview,if she were still up to playing the role, as well as Dorian (Robin Strasser), but who else would we include in this new reboot? Obviously Viki’s two daughters Jessica and Natalie would be involved somehow, but what about the other iconic characters in the show?
Reincarnation of One Life to Live?
I think David Vickers (Tuc Watkins) should come back, as well as Todd Manning (Trever St. John), of course, ol’ Todd might find himself in a bit of a bind seeing as the whole ‘narcissistic Dad’ trope is kind of on its way out and we all know what a controlling narc he was to daughter, Star Manning (Kristen Alderson).
Blair Kramer (Kassie DePaiva) would probably be somewhere in the mix, but by now I’m not sure that she would still be with Todd. The last we checked she was with John McBain (Michael Easton) but he’s kinda busy living an entirely different life over in Port Charles right now so I don’t see him coming back except for maybe in cameos, same goes for Blair, really.
It’d be interesting to see how Star Manning has come along, Considering what all she had to deal with before Llanview faded from existence. Considering poor Cole Thornhart (Brandon Buddy) died in Port Charles it’d be interesting to see how she’s gotten on with her life since then. Or maybe, who knows, they’ll bring back Cole, it is a soap opera, after all.
(That’d be interesting!) Would they consider bringing back Nash Brennan (Forbes March)? And if that happened would that mean that Jessica’s split personalities would come back into play? Food for thought there. Either way, I’d welcome another shot at OLTL. How about you? Stay tuned!!!
