Could this be the beginning of the end of Armie Hammer’s Hollywood career? Maybe, maybe not. After his rather freakish DM’s made their way to Twitter, in which he confessed to being into cannibalism, the actor has been forced to “step away” from a new romantic comedy he was supposed to star in alongside Jennifer Lopez. According to Page Six, Armie has willfully stepped away from his upcoming movie, ‘Shotgun Wedding,’ because of his alleged leaked messages about his sex life. The movie was supposed to go into production this year.

A production spokesman confirmed to Page Six, “Given the imminent start date of ‘Shotgun Wedding,’ Armie has requested to step away from the film and we support him in his decision.” The role will be recast.
“I’m not responding to these bulls–t claims but in light of the vicious and spurious online attacks against me, I cannot in good conscience now leave my children for four months to shoot a film in the Dominican Republic,” Hammer said in a statement to Page Six, adding, “Lionsgate is supporting me in this and I’m grateful to them for that.”
Armie started trending on Twitter after a series of screenshots showing graphic messages he’d allegedly penned to a woman were leaked by the anonymous, now-private Instagram account, House of Effie.
The messages, said to be sent between 2016 and February 2020, include conversations about BDSM, in addition to numerous sexual references to cannibalistic acts and blood-sucking.
“I need to drink your blood. Why the distance?” Hammer allegedly writes in one DM.
Another sees the star allegedly write “I’ve cut the heart out of a living animal before and eaten it while still warm.”
Other messages show Hammer allegedly claim he’s “100% a cannibal.”
“F**k. That’s scary to admit,’ the message continues. “I’ve never admitted that before.”
So far Armie Hammer himself has not made any comments about the matter.
