British Royal Family News says that Meghan Markle can be as woke as she wants, but critics believe that she shouldn’t do it at the expense of her husband Prince Harry and the already fractured relationship that he has with the royal family.
As a matter of fact, sources behind the scenes say that the royals back at Buckingham Palace are none too pleased with some of the things they’ve been hearing from Harry and Meghan with their multiple video calls they’ve been releasing to the public from the comfort of their California home. According to the daily Mail, royal author Robert Lacey says that the Duchess of Sussex may want to rein in her “woke speeches” especially when she realizes that she might be putting her husband’s relationship with his family members at risk.
Even though both Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are no longer considered working members of the royal family, they still carry titles and are to refrain from saying anything that doesn’t align with Queen Elizabeth’s policies, protocols, royal standards, and so forth.
Unfortunately though, Meghan doesn’t seem to see it this same way. She has recently spoken out about a range of hot-button issues like the addictive nature of social media, Black Lives Matter, and even the upcoming Presidential election. If there’s one thing that Queen Elizabeth certainly doesn’t like, it’s when the royals mix with politics.
In a new interview with True Royalty TV, Lacey puts it this way, “Meghan is a self-made woman; she becomes a star; she becomes a self-made millionairess. I think when William sat down with Harry and said there could be problems, I think events have proved him right. Meghan acknowledged that it’s risky for her family to get involved in controversial issues.”
He added, “Maybe she’s simply talking about the physical risk that exists in America for anybody, because of the way politics has become so volatile and violent there… but I think that she has come to realize how [some of her] speeches risk her husband’s relationship with the family and perhaps she may pedal back on some of these more extreme positions.”
So far Buckingham Palace has not responded to Meghan and her “woke” speeches, but with Prince Harry scheduled to travel to London soon, there’s a good chance that he might be getting an earful from his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth.
