’90 Day Fiancé’ spoilers finds that Sumit’s parents really know how to stress a person out, and by that person I mean me, and I’m not even sitting in the same room with these people. I’m half a world away watching a grown man cry like a baby to his Mom and Dad trying to convince them that his relationship is just as legit as any relationship that he would have if he married a woman his own age.
It’s clear to see that Sumit’s parents only got married because it was a societal expectation, I mean, maybe it was one of those things where they eventually fell in love with one another, like one of those old victorian novels, but they’re so hung up on the idea of just getting married to raise a family, it makes one wonder.
’90 Day Fiancé’ Spoilers: Sumit’s parents need to give it a rest.
They were literally so mad because Sumit just wanted to get married for love and not for the sake of getting married to repopulate the earth. Honestly, I don’t know if they’ve heard, but India is not a sparsely populated country, maybe they’ve been living under a rock all these years?
But just because two people get married for love and not to have scads of children is not going to ultimately make a difference in the fate of India as a country, nor is it going to make a difference in their lives personally, aside from getting some side-eyes from their friends.
Sumit’s Mom and Dad are already established, sooner or later their friends will get over it, they don’t seem to acknowledge that their son is actually in love with a woman and they treat him like a child.
When he told them that the law says that they have no objection, they told him that there is no law above his parents. What? Um, the last time I checked Sumit was 32, not 5. Indian law states that unless he was under 18 or declared insane that they can literally have no legal ground to stand on when it comes to him getting married to Jenny.
I get that he just wants to keep the relationship with his parents and keep his family together but these people are not ever going to change. After their unfair assessment of Jenny and telling Sumit that the next time he should marry a 100 year old, Sumit just needs to cut ties and be his own man, not cry in his Dad’s lap like a four year old! This entire family is tiring. Stay tuned!!!
