Hulu’s Huluween put out perhaps the darkest short horror film yet in their Bite Size Halloween series. In this short, a businesswoman comes upon a stroller in the middle of the parking garage, it’s empty, however. She quickly hurries to her car and while backing up hears a huge thump.

Worried, she jumps out to see what happened and finds the stroller smashed under her car. Jumping back in her car she finds a small baby in the backseat. Horrified she pulls the child out and holds it close as she gets a call from work telling her they want her to go back in tonight.

“In a mysterious parking garage, a businesswoman is haunted by the ticking of the biological clock in her head. Written & directed by Alexis Jacknow; featuring Jess Weixler & Tarina Pouncy. From 20th Digital Studio, Bite Size Halloween is a series of 30 spooky stand-alone shorts ranging from the terrifying to the ridiculous. These short films explore different areas of the horror genre and provide a platform for exciting up-and-coming filmmakers. Watch the full series “now screaming” on Hulu.”

There’s a dark allegory in this short, as the businesswoman is confronting her “biological clock” for having a child while maintaining a career at the same time. However, in the end, she realizes this and tells work that she can’t make it in as she doesn’t have time. It seems the woman makes a decision at that moment.

After the first watch, I wasn’t sure what was going on, but the more I watched it the more I noticed the hidden themes and overall story.
