It is an exciting time in WWE as there are a lot of things happening that fans should be loving. Roman Reigns is the hottest that he has ever been in the company, as he returned alongside Paul Heyman to reclaim the Universal Championship. However, it has been the action in the women’s division that has been gaining the most traction with fans.

It was revealed in the week that the number of viewers that were attracted to the SmackDown segment between Bayley and Sasha Banks during last week’s episode were near record breaking. According to Dave Meltzer, the segment attracted an average of 2.32 million viewers, which has been claimed was the biggest number of viewers for a wrestling segment since lockdown began.

WWE News: Fans Tune In To Watch Banks/Bayley Separate

It has been no secret to fans of the WWE that the separation between Banks and Bayley was going to come, but nobody knew exactly when it might. However, that night finally came last week as Bayley ruthlessly beat down the Boss after they had lost their re-match for the tag team championships against Shayna Baszler and Nia Jax.

However, the match itself wasn’t the reason for the record numbers, with the beat down afterwards getting all the attention. The WWE finally pulled the trigger on the rivalry that the fans have been waiting months to see as Bayley beat down Banks. The beat down ended as Bayley jumped off the top rope onto a chair that was wrapped in Banks’ neck.

WWE News: Bayley Shows No Remorse

WWE continued to tell this story on the most recent episode of SmackDown, as Bayley addressed her actions from last week. However, the reigning SmackDown Women’s Champion showed no remorse for her actions as she sat in the middle of the ring.

She claimed that she was using Banks to continue her reign as the champion, and that she turned on her because she no longer had any use for the Boss. Banks wasn’t in attendance to reply to the claims, as she has been written off television with injury following the attack.

Fans may not see Banks for a number of months now as the WWE continue to build the anticipation for the match between the two, with some fans hoping that the title match could be scheduled for as late as WrestleMania.
