TLC ‘Doubling Down with the Derricos’ spoilers reveal that Deon and GiGi unfortunately came down with a sickness. They didn’t expressly state that it was COVID but since Deon was the only one who went out, then he probably got exposed pretty fast and the other most vulnerable Derrico besides little Dawsyn, Gigi, got exposed, and now she has it.
They both have it from the looks of it. Gigi said she wasn’t feeling like herself and she felt the need to throw up. Deon, poor Deon, he said that he just felt useless because he couldn’t help Karen with anything and that all he could do was lie there sick while she took care of all the children with the help of the honorary Uncle, Eric.

Literally all they could do was lie there and wait for the medicine to treat the symptoms. Right now there is no cure for COVID, there’s no way to treat the virus currently other than to let it pass from your system and treat the symptoms.
Poor Gigi and Deon are just in there feeling horrible, and the children can’t go in there and see them. That’s what was most hard on the family, the not being able to see each other because they are a close family, they don’t go a day without being in each other’s lives and having to quarantine themselves while being in the same house was quite the challenge.
Karen said that one day she caught one of the children trying to go into the room where Gigi and Deon were, and that she had to get them out and they started crying because they’re not used to being separated from them.
Derrick asked if he could go check on his Dad and Karen had to tell him no. because children weren’t allowed in the room. It’s sad, but this show did an excellent job of portraying what COVID-19 actually looks like in a non-hospital setting and it’s hell.
I don’t envy the family one bit, having to be separated from each other right now. Poor Karen was having trouble keeping it together over this. Her friends kept texting her telling her they didn’t know how she did it, and she said she did it because she had no other choice but to do it. Truer words were never spoken by a Mom.
