TLC ’90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?’ Spoilers reveal that Asuelu agree to Kalani’s terms of meeting with a therapist in order to heal their marriage. That was surprisingly open-minded considering how closed-off he’s been the last couple of months.
He’s always going on about his culture and family and how traditional gender roles are important (okay, not in those exact terms, he phrases it that the man is the head of the family and the woman is the neck, if you need more clarification, please refer to My Big Fat Greek Wedding), so this was a surprising step forward for him.

In this latest episode, when Asuelu went back to meet with his family, namely his Mom, Lisena, and Sister Tammy, he actually put his foot down with them. He asked them why they would reccommend even getting a divorce from Kalani when she is his wife, he put it to Lisena like this, “If you love me, then you love Kalani.” honestly, that’s the truth.
If you love and accept your children then you need to be happy for them and love and accept who they are with, whomever that might be. Lisena acts like Kalani is some sort of soul-sucking gold-digger when she isn’t, she’s said out of her own mouth that the relationship between her and Asuelu was never about money. Most Mom’s would be happy to hear their daughter-in-laws say that, but Lisena just wanted to hear the sound of a cash register.

Lisena says she wants Asuelu to be a strong man and to realize that he doesn’t need anybody and to stand on his own, but by standing up to her and Tammy, isn’t that exactly what he’s doing? She says she wants him to be a strong man who stands on his own two feet but then she asks questions like, “But what about your Mom?” and then she has the nerve to say things like “You put your wife first in your mind.”
As if that’s a bad thing! The thing is, Asuelu’s head has been screwed on straight, finally, and I personally can’t wait to see Lo, Kalani’s Dad, who is full Samoan, call them out ont all of their hypocrisy. Stay tuned!!!
