Okay, that was mean, but I must admit, I identify with Darcey’s daughter, Aspen, on a personal level because she just admitted on an inside the episode short that she doesn’t dance. In spite of her and Aniko, Darcey’s other daughter, showing up at a dance class and being cheered on by Mom.
She just admitted that she doesn’t dance but that she does indeed do other sports like track and lacrosse. Lord bless you, Aspen, you have coordination, that’s something she and I don’t share but that’s another story for another time.
Darcey and Stacey Silva: Aspen simps her way through a dance class!
Thankfully for Aspen, the dance they learned was, in her words “pretty simple” and “she understood it”, which is again, something that I can relate to on a personal level. People who have that special thing called hand-to-eye coordination don’t often realize that for some of us, dancing is an unachievable feat.
Like being able to run a one minute mile, or being able to leap a tall building in one bound, it’s just not happening! Aspen is lucky, she’s got blessed with that coordination, and she had a pretty simple dance to learn, so hey, she lucked out, congratulations.
Darcey, she said was being a total stage Mom though and would be saying, “You’re doing great!” even though she kept messing up. Darcey said that when she was younger she liked to dance and hinted at taking dance classes.
I wonder if, like those tennis lessons she said she took, she simped her way through it too? I mean, it’d make sense for Aspen to inherit that trait from Darcey, Darcey never said how good she was at dancing though so it makes me wonder. Just because one likes to do something, doesn’t necessarily mean they’re that good at it.
I must admit I laughed when Aspen and Aniko didn’t know what a pager was. That being said, if Darcey and Stacey were in high school in 1992 then wow they must have been rich kids because usually only really rich executives got pagers back in those days!
Speaking as a pretty technologically saavy person, we didn’t have any kind of cell phone until 1996, and then it was one of those gigantic ones that you carried around like a purse in a bag. So if Darcey and Stacey had pagers when they were Aspen and Aniko’s age, wow, spoiled much? No wonder they need therapy. Stay tuned!!!
