The TikTok star recently revealed that she struggles with an eating disorder and decided to open up about the ordeal to her millions of fans while using her platform for some good. Adored by many, the social media star told her 85 million TikTok followers that while she has her good days and her bad, she wants those who are also struggling with eating disorders to know that they are not alone, too.

“I’ve always tried to use my voice when it comes to issues surrounding body image, but I’ve never talked about my own struggles with eating disorders,” the 16-year-old dancer wrote Thursday in a candid message she posted on her Instagram story.
“It’s so uncomfortable to admit to even your closest friends and family, let alone the world,” she continued.
While Charli says that she was initially afraid about opening up about her challenges, she decided to reveal her struggle in order to help anyone else who might be suffering from the same personal problems she deals with on a daily basis.
“I’ve been afraid to share that I have an eating disorder, but ultimately i hope that by sharing this i can help someone else,” she wrote. “I know eating disorders are something that so many other people are also battling behind closed doors.”
If that weren’t enough, Charli also apologized to her social media followers for “unintentionally” playing songs on TikTok that may have contained triggering lyrics, telling them, “I hope you know that I never intended to cause you harm.”
