Christina and Ant Anstead are divorcing, but they are hoping to make things work for their blended family. As a matter of fact, there are new reports that says Ant doesn’t want to separate the couple’s one-year-old child, Hudson, from Christina’s children from her previous marriage, and his own older children from his previous relationship. Here’s what you need to know.

Without even giving the slightest hint of what went wrong, Christina shared her announcement on Instagram that she and Ant have made the difficult decision to separate. Christina has two older children, Taylor and Brayden, from her marriage to Tarek El Moussa while Ant has two children, Amelia and Archie, back in the UK.

While no one knows what really happened behind closed doors for the couple, a source told Life & Style in a new interview this week that they simply grew apart, even though they were only together for a few short years.

“No one saw this coming,” the source explained. “They’re very different people from totally different backgrounds, and that definitely played a factor. Friends say Ant was the first one who started having feelings about splitting.”

With that said though, the soon-to-be divorced couple have told their friends and family that they plan on doing whatever it takes to make sure that their blended family stays in tact. In other words, Ant wants to make sure that Hudson will continue to grow up with his siblings on both sides of the ocean.

“It’s very sad, but they say they still love and respect each other,” the insider continued. “The conversations about splitting were gut-wrenching and heartbreaking, but they both came to the same conclusion and decided it wasn’t going to be a lifetime marriage.”
