British Royal Family News suggests Meghan Markle believes the tabloid media is to blame for her lack of a relationship with her father, Thomas Markle Sr. As a matter of fact, the Duchess of Sussex believes that if it weren’t for the intrusive media, there’s a good chance that she and her father would still be on good terms.
But because the UK media has written about every little detail about the Markle family and their dirty laundry, things have gone terribly south for Meghan and her father to the point that they are not even speaking to one another anymore. Here’s what you need to know.
According to the Guardian, Meghan’s lawyers claim that the father and daughter duo “had a very close father/daughter relationship throughout her childhood and remained close until he was targeted three years ago by intrusive UK tabloid media.”
British Royal Family News: Meghan Markle Claims The Tabloids Destroyed Her Relationship With Father Thomas Markle
To make matters worse, Meghan is none too pleased that her father decided to give a British publication a private letter that she wrote him for publication. Apparently, Thomas Markle did this in retaliation after five of Meghan’s friends gave an interview with People Magazine to defend her.
And now the same publication is apparently looking to publicly name the five friends who spoke on Meghan’s behalf, making this even more of a headache for everyone involved.
“For the Mail on Sunday to expose them in the public domain for no reason other than clickbait and commercial gain is vicious and poses a threat to their emotional and mental well-being,’’ Meghan said in the statement. “The Mail on Sunday is playing a media game with real lives.”
