CBS ‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ (B&B) Spoilers indicate that soap star Don Diamont is opening up about his early days in his daytime television career and his very memorable role as Brad on ‘Young and the Restless’. While everyone now knows him best as Bill Spencer on ‘Bold and the Beautiful’, Brad was certainly a character that many soap fans still talk about today! Here’s what he has to say.
In a new interview with Soap Opera Digest, Don Diamont says, “I don’t remember the description of the character. I am sure it was something like, ‘This mysterious opportunist who comes to town.’ I’m sure it was something like that, but I don’t really remember the breakdown.”

Recalling the audition process, Don continued, “Having come off Days of Our Lives and the circumstances surrounding that, I was still super-confident. I felt like I would get another show, whether daytime or otherwise. That’s what I said to my mom at the time, that work begets work and that I will have another opportunity, and thankfully, Bill was aware of me from the relatively short time on ‘Days of Our Lives’. He had former producer Tom Langan call my agent. I didn’t read for it. It was just coming to screen test.”

And the rest, as they say, is history. And even though it’s been so many years, fans still love and talk about the Brad and Traci pairing. Don even says that he loves actress Beth Maitland, who plays Traci on the hit CBS show, to this day. He added, “I was so fortunate to be paired with Ben and work with such an extraordinary talented actress who is such a good person. She really helped me along. I learned a lot from her. She was patient, kind and always in good humor.
I was really blessed and we have remained friends over these many years. In fact, she was using my dressing room when ‘Bold and the Beautiful’ was dark one week and she left a note saying, ‘I love you madly, Don Diamont.’ It’s still on my cork board. I am so happy to see that they have been using her so much on ‘Young and the Restless’ because it’s deserved. There’s nobody better and I am so happy for her.”
