British Royal Family News suggests that Princess Beatrice is slowly but surely becoming the unluckiest member of the royal family. The young royal was hoping to follow in the footsteps of Kate Middleton, Meghan Markle and even her own sister Princess Eugenie by having a royal wedding with all of the pomp and circumstance that you would expect, but that doesn’t look like it’s going to happen anytime soon, if at all. Here’s what you need to know.
Before the global pandemic that is the coronavirus managed to upend everyone’s lives, Princess Beatrice was hoping to have a huge royal and televised royal wedding in the same manner that her sister Princess Eugenie had when she married her husband Jack Brooksbank back in October of 2018. However, it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen anytime soon – or at all – because of the coronavirus.
British Royal Family News: Princess Beatrice’s Wedding Nightmare Revealed
Princess Beatrice was hoping to tie the knot to her fiancé Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi at the end of May, but was forced to cancel her wedding because of Covid-19. And now it looks like any future plans will also have to be on hold as Britain’s new lockdown measures say that gatherings in the coming months will have to be limited and small in numbers.
According to Britain’s Express.co.uk, new guidelines read: “The Government is also examining how to enable people to gather in slightly larger groups to better facilitate small weddings. Over the coming weeks, the Government will engage on the nature and timing of the measures in this step, in order to consider the widest possible array of views on how best to balance the health, economic and social effects.”
What’s more, Justice Secretary Robert Buckland told BBC Radio 4 says that they are trying to look for a solution to help those who are still looking to get married this summer. Replying to one listener’s on-air question, Buckland said, “You’ll be glad to know that we are giving anxious consideration to the issue of marriages. We want to help people like you, but there are also some people who are really… they want to get married because things are happening in their life that means they might not be together for a long time, and therefore I’m giving a lot of anxious consideration to the effect of the potential changes here as to what we can do with regard to marriage ceremonies. So, watch this space, we’re working on it.”
For Princess Beatrice, however, this might pose a huge problem, seeing how she wasn’t looking to have a scaled-back wedding in the first place. So far Buckingham Palace has not made any comments about her future wedding plans.
