CBS ‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers find that Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) has finally told Nicholas Newman (Joshua Morrow) about her breast cancer diagnoses. She has been surprised at the support she’s received already, namely Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott). Convinced she can beat this, she’ll need all the support she can get! Although, perhaps the hardest person to tell was going to be Nick. We all know the history, and someone you’ve been so madly in love with and have a child with is always going to be special to you. No matter how much time passes. This may be why Sharon hadn’t wanted to tell Nick yet. Although, it’s probably for the best it happened this way.

Meanwhile, Sharon at the breast cancer center sees the doctor and has only one question. “Can I beat this?”. All of us at home were screaming, “Of course you can!”. The doctor was not as optimistic. While there’s a good chance, nothing is ever for sure. We learn that her cancer is stage II, and chemotherapy is recommended. As well as a surgery to try to remove cancer. Thankfully, it seems as though a mastectomy is off the table. For now.

After Sharon and Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso) get home, Sharon asks for the book from the doctor. Once she is alone it doesn’t take long for the tears to start. Who can blame her? I can’t imagine the stress and emotional distress she must be under.
Almost immediately there’s a knock on the door. It’s Nick. Sharon tries to run him off, telling him she’s sick but he knows better. She eventually opens the door and lets him in. Nick wants to know what’s going on and tells her that a lot of people care about her. Sharon finally cracks and tells Nick about her diagnosis and tells him about the chemotherapy and what stage it’s in. She also tells him that she’s afraid to tell Faith the news. Nick reassures her that everyone is behind her, and will support her. She can beat this thing. As for Faith, she’s a strong kid and already has suspicions because of the note. Rey returns and Sharon shares with him that Nick knows now. Rey is relieved and says, “Good.” It seems the news is coming out, and soon Sharon will have a web of support around her!
