‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers Update: Phyllis Drops Bomb On Summer – Nick Drowns Holiday Sorrows With Victor’s Toast – Theo Vanderway Welcomed Into Abbott Family Christmas, Kyle Still Not Sold

‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers update for Monday, December 23 indicate that it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas for Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson) as he’s spending Christmas with his newfound family, his Uncle Jack Abbott (Peter Bergman) and Auntie Traci Abbott (Beth Maitland), they’ve let Theo in on a few holiday traditions and they will also discuss the deal that Theo recently made for Jabot. Jack is glad that everything came out good on the other side and he’ll also express how he thinks that Theo and Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) can work through any differences they may have and come to a peaceful co-existance within the company. Man, what kind of kool-aid is Jack, sipping?

Theo will take a look at the Abbott Family History book and that’s when Jack and Traci touchingly tell him that it’s his family history now too. (Awww!) They also invite him over for Christmas day, but Theo is reluctant, he wants to see how things go first. From there they’ll share some holidays treats together and then drink a toast to old, and new, holiday traditions.

At the Abbott/Rosales residence, Kyle Abbott will have scored a Christmas tree. Lola Rosales (Sasha Caille) get s a really big kick out of the tree getting stuck in the hallway. Talk about biting off more than you can chew, eh, Kyle? Lola will have some fresh-baked cookies in the oven to soothe that ruffled pride of his and they’ll ooh and ahh over the ornaments that Jack and Celeste Rosales (Eva LaRue) sent over. Things will heat up and these two will ring in the season by making passionate love, and Kyle will declare it the best Christmas ever.

Meanwhile, at Society, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) will lovingly acknowledge that it’s Summer Newman’s (Hunter King) birthday and make it known to the rest of the patrons as well. Mother and daughter will have a glass of wine and they’ll talk about Summer’s new job and they’ll also discuss Kyle and Theo and how things are gong with them. That’s when Phyllis will bring up her own ‘dagger to the heart’ and tell her daughter that she is no longer friends with Adam Newman (Mark Grossman). From that difficult subject they’ll move onto all things festive and start discussing the Christmas tree that Summer decorated in Phyllis’s suite.

When Phyllis excuses herself for a moment, Summer will check her texts to see birthday wishes from Kyle, Jack, and Theo and will smile. Then when Phyllis comes back the two will share an amazing dessert that was flown in from Paris and that’s when Phyllis will tell her that she is the best early Christmas gift she could’ve ever asked for. (Awww! I’m verklempt, talk amonst yourselves!)

They’re ringing in Christmas early at the Newman Mansion because of the fact that Victoria Newman (Amanda Heinle) and Billy Abbott (Jason Thompson) will be spending Christmas in Telluride with the kids. While at the mansion, Victoria will be sure to brag about Billy’s new consulting job to Dad Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) and Mom Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott), she’s so proud, she feels like everything is finally falling into place for them. Sometime during all of this, Billy will receive a text from Amanda Sinclair (Mishael Morgan) and say that he needs to go check on the kids. Victor will follow.

While that is happening, Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) will discuss Chelsea Newman (Melissa Claire Egan) with Victoria and Nikki, he’ll tell them of how they enjoyed their evening together but ultimately Chelsea went back to Adam’s place but he’ll assure them both that he thinks that there’s still hope for the future with her. When Victor and Billy get back, Victor will make a sweet, touching toast about his family and then share a dance with Nikki to her favorite Christmas song, along with more holiday fun. Stay tuned!!!
