‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ (B&B) spoilers finds that star Matthew Atkinson (Thomas Forrester) has become the new star of the daytime television world. His creepy yet spot on portrayal of the deranged and dangerous Thomas Forrester has been winning him fans from all over the world. And now the Atlanta native is opening up about his role and how he had to learn how to “re-enter” into the world of soap acting, too. Here’s what he has to say.
As many fans can recall, Matthew did have a role on ‘Young and the Restless’ as Austin back in 2014 and 2015. But because the daytime television world is so different from the rest of the entertainment industry, it took some time for Matthew to get back into the swing of things. In fact, he even admits that he was a little nervous before he accepted the role of Thomas on the hit CBS soap.

Speaking to Soap Opera Digest in a new interview, the handsome actor said, “I was a little scared. Not scared of the people, because everyone I’ve met are amazing, both as actors and as people. But since Thomas was a legacy character, I wanted to make sure I was doing him justice for the fans.”
With that said, Thomas also admitted that working on a soap like ‘Bold and the Beautiful’ certainly is fast-paced and a place where you can’t miss a beat. He explained, “It’s a rigorous work schedule bit it’s so much fun, and I’m so excited and happy to be doing what I’m doing. I don’t think there is anything that can prepare you for the amount of material that you get in daytime. I remember just from working across the hall at ‘Young and the Restless’ the sheer magnitude of pages that you have to memorize in a day. But the brain muscle is a muscle that gets very heavily trained when you are doing daytime. It’s not quite like riding a bicycle but it’s like going back to the gym after a while.”
