The Young and the Restless spoilers relate that it seems as though Eric Braeden has been very instrumental in bringing back some fan favourites and The Young and the Restless veterans back on the canvas. As a matter of fact, the actor, who plays Victor Newman in Genoa City, played a huge role in getting Doug Davidson back on the show in his original position. And now fans can’t help but wonder if Eric can work his magic by getting Eileen Davidson’s important role on The Young and the Restless, too. Eileen is best known for her role as Ashley Abbott. Here’s what you need to know.
The Young and the Restless Spoilers: Eileen Davidson (Ashley Abbott) To Have Increased Role On Y&R?
Late last year it was reported that Eileen was leaving the highly-rated CBS soap, much to the disappointment of many of her fans and viewers. After all, Ashley Abbott was a fierce blonde who knew how to deliver good on-screen drama.

In addition to Eileen, many fans were also sad to learn that Doug Davidson was cut from the show, too. He played Genoa City police detective Paul Williams for several decades. While it’s never been confirmed, there has been speculation that Mal Young had something to do with all of the show’s veterans leaving the series.
But now that Mal is gone and writer Josh Griffith has had time to settle into his new gig, there’s a very strong possibility that soap stars like Eileen Davidson, along with Doug Davidson, might slowly but surely return to the forefront of the show as some of the main protagonists in the story. Perhaps Eric Braeden can further work his magic to make sure this can happen? We sure have our fingers crossed!
We have already reported that some of the newcomers, like Mia Rosales (Noemi Gonzalez) and Arturo Rosales (Jason Canela), are leaving the show meaning that airtime will be freed to allocate elsewhere. Many fans have voiced their opinion that they want their favourites to reclaim the main spotlight, so it’s very possible that we will see exactly that.
So far Eileen has not made any comments about a change in her airtime prominence on  The Young and the Restless but as many fans already know, anything can happen at any time. For now, we will have to continue to tune in to find out what’s in store next!
