It’s without a doubt that Kristoff St. John’s daytime television fans miss him just as much as all of his colleagues at The Young and the Restless. In fact, the Hollywood star’s fans had a very unique way of honoring the late actor, who died earlier this week inside his home at Woodland Hills, California. He was just 52. The actor was best known for his role as Neil Winters, a role that he has played since 1991.

According to new reports, fans along with the CBS network encouraged social media users to share photos of Kristoff St. John on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram during the latest episode of The Young and the Restless. The official CBS Twitter page wrote, “To honor Kristoff St. John, help us flood our timeline with photos of him during today’s airing of @YandR_CBS. Post your favorite photos of him, with him and for him today while you’re watching live or later on your DVR. #YR#picturesforKristoff RT to spread the word.”

It didn’t take very long for Kristoff’s fans to jump into action. Many included tributes to the actor along with their thoughts over his heartbreaking death. Some included, “So heartbreaking and sad to know that this is going to be the last time that Neil and Kristoff St. John is on the show. I still can’t believe it. #YR#RIPKristoffStJohn.”

Another fan wrote, “#YR seriously crying here when Neil asks Devon about how he’s doing emotionally. That’s what made him great. He would relate to these storylines and the fans could feel the pain and feelings.”

So far Kristoff St. John’s family has not made any additional comments about his death, although an autopsy is in the works. Many close friends and family members say that Kristoff had a very hard time coming to terms with the death of his son, Julian, who passed away back in 2014. Many of his colleagues, including fellow The Young and the Restless star Eric Braeden, said that he knew that he was still feeling emotional and troubled over his son’s death but did his best to mask his feelings while he was at work.
