Britney Spears has been experiencing a ton of backlash lately, not just from the interview that her ex-husband Kevin Federline came out with on DailyMail, but also the controversy surrounding her wanting to get married at the Vatican. She felt compelled to “clear the air” on social media and made a post explaining what really happened.
She began by explaining, “There was a lot of backlash saying I never asked to get married at the church I pictured … I’m writing this because the church said I never asked.” The moment she began explaining the situation is the moment she invited more drama into her life. She continued, “I hired a wedding planner who has done Madonna’s wedding and plenty more … he was extremely expensive and yes my first request was to get married in that church pictured … it was the only picture I had and sent to him through my phone at my house … I was told 6 weeks later … I could not get married there !!!”

However, even during COVID-19, she claims she wanted to still go there saying, “it’s not a big deal, but I don’t like being called a liar.”
Viewers began commenting on the post calling her out saying, “Gurl (or whoever made this post)…you can’t just get married at the VATICAN! Especially when you aren’t even Catholic! That’s like…the most entitled thing I’ve ever heard!”, “The Vatican? I’m sure you have to be a strict practicing Catholic (husband and wife) for something like that to be considered.” and “You can’t just walk into a Catholic church because it’s pretty and get married there. It’s just how it is.” Another wrote, “you need to be a practicing Catholic and since you were divorced you would need an annulment to marry in any catholic church.”
We think the celebrity and freedom may be getting to Britney’s head a little bit because acting like this is no big deal seems pretty crazy.
