‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers indicates that Summer Newman (Allison Lanier) has finally had enough. She was forgiving and so thankful when she found out that her mother, Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) was alive. But now she is seeing clearly that her mother doesn’t intend to change.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Her Mother’s Mess
Summer, along with everyone else in Genoa City, believed the Phyllis died and Diane Jenkins (Susan Walters) killed her. Phyllis faked her death with the help of ex-con, Jeremy Stark (James Hyde). Then they pinned it all on Diane, who was arrested.
When Phyllis attended her own memorial service in disguise, she saw her children grieving her. She realized that she did not want to be part from them forever. When Stark realizes she wants to bail and will try to pin it all on him, he attacks her and tries to kill her After all, everyone already believes she is dead.
Phyllis fights back and kills him in self-defense. Instead of contacting the authorities right away to claim coercion and self-defense, Phyllis tries to dump the body. Then she shows up in Genoa City, sneaking around to meet Summer.
Summer is shocked and pleased that she is alive. She wants her mother to be able to return and not face any charges. She should not be able to handle losing her mother again to a prison sentence.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Save Her Mother
Summer is just so thankful that her mother is back, and she doesn’t want her to face any prison time. Phyllis is apologetic and says she needs to make amends for all that she put her children through. She says that she wants to change.
Summer’s brother, Daniel Romalotti (Michael Graziadei) thinks his mother needs to bear the consequences of her actions. Summer has always disagreed with Daniel, being unwilling to face having her mother be incarcerated. She has tried to be forgiving, even though Phyllis’ choices cost Summer everything, even her marriage.
Finally, Summer sees through Phyllis. Phyllis has been working out deals with Tucker McCall (Trevor St. John) and Adam Newman (Mark Grossman).
o Summer this is evidence that her mother isn’t really trying to walk the straight and narrow. She sees now how selfish her mother is, even trying to make illegal deals to get herself out of jail.
For the first time Summer agrees with Daniel and goes marching away from her mother. Do you think Summer and Phyllis are going to be able to patch things up? Or will they continue to experience chaos and drama?
