‘The Young And The Restless’ (Y&R) spoilers show that in a preview for next week we see Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) confronting Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) about his lies and deceit! It looks like Victor has all the evidence he needs, thanks to Michael Baldwin (Christian Le Blanc), it looks like Ashland may be on his way out!
If he is proven to be lying to Victoria Newman (Amelia Heinle) about his condition and just trying to weasel his way into the company to take it over from the inside, why would they dare keep him around? After they fired Richard Burgi, it felt like this was only a matter of time.
‘The Young And The Restless’ Spoilers: Is Ashland Locke (Robert Newman) Leaving The Show?
It feels like they were only keeping Ashland around because fans liked Burgi’s portrayal and ended up liking his character. Once he was fired though, the mood changed. Don’t get me wrong, viewers love Robert Newman, but it looks like the writers are expediting his story to get him out of Genoa City.
They’ve also added to the cast with Kelsey Wang (Allie), who we can expect to see within the next week or two, so it seems to make sense that they would need to get rid of another actor/actress to make the space.
Unfortunately, Ashland’s presence in Genoa City has left a permanent scar, and according to the actual storylines, Ashland is responsible for Summer Newman, Kyle Abbott, and more not being there anymore, as well as Sally Spectra.
It will kind of stink to say goodbye to the character, but he is a piece of crap after all, even though we’ve loved the two actors playing him. It may be time to let Ashland walk away.
