Porsha Williams, who you may have seen on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, has talked frankly about the troubles she faced following her father’s death when she was a teenager. The star spilled the beans on the hardships she had faced in what was an open discussion.

She then outlined the moment at which it started to impact her negatively, with some rather revealing comments: “Unfortunately, once he died and I’m in those years of 17 when you start to date and all of that, he wasn’t here. He died. “That mindset of me just having a skeleton idea of what a man should be led me into like, seriously abusive situations.”

“Now doing something like [working on] my book with my mom and my sister, I am realizing I was lacking something.” Clearly, it impacted Porsha when she was going through adulthood phase. But how did the star feel at the moment it happened?

When addressing the time during which she lived with her mother following her parent’s divorce, Porsha went on to say: “It was just kind of confusing at first, because I had my home with Mommy that felt complete, solid, and then over here with Dad, it was another home that could be complete and solid. And why am I going in between?”

And yet, she did not let it affect her at all. She said: “I feel like a lot of kids feel like divorce is, you know, traumatizing. But, I mean, I think y’all did a really good job with the go back and forth.”So how has she dealt with all the heartache? Porscha went on to reveal that she is working on an upcoming book, The Pursuit of Porsha, in which she will address those demons:

“I am writing a book, which for me is very therapeutic. I’ve had to learn a lot through hardships, and there is a lot that I would love for young girls to know. I’ve actually dealt with depression, abuse, etc and I’ve made it in spite of all.”

It is good to see that Porscha is not letting it get on top of her. If you enjoyed reading this article, then make sure you check out our features on the Daily Soap Dish.
