The late Queen Elizabeth II was known for her kindness, patience, and dedication to the crown. However, even she had her limits.
The Queen Said Meghan’s Romance With Harry Was A “Complete Catastrophe.”
In the weeks leading up to her death, the Queen spoke about Meghan Markle and her romance with Prince Harry, describing it as a “complete catastrophe.”
Lady Elizabeth Anson was one of the Queen’s closest relatives and confidants. She was known as Lady Eliza to Her Majesty and those in her inner circle.
Royal expert and journalist Sally Bedell Smith interviewed Lady Eliza. She told Smith that
“Harry had been rude to his grandmother for 10 minutes during a meeting about his wedding.”
Apparently, Meghan was very tight-lipped about the details of her wedding dress, which was likely because she thought the Queen would disapprove.
The Queen was “saddened” by Meghan’s secrecy; as we all know, Meghan enjoys playing games. The royal family maintains strict rules regarding weddings.
Meghan’s gown was thought to be “too white” for a divorcee, which was inappropriate for remarrying, especially in a church. The Queen also wasn’t a fan of her long veil.
According to an undisclosed source, the Queen made some brutally disapproving remarks about Meghan before she passed away.
The source claimed,
“It was out of character for the Queen, but she saw straight through Meghan.”
When the monarch was enjoying drinks with a small group of friends at Balmoral, she expressed her concerns.
She said that
“Harry meeting Meghan had become a complete catastrophe.”
Queen Elizabeth knew she didn’t have much time left. She wanted to speak her mind.
The Queen Was Initially “Charmed” By Meghan
The Queen’s first cousin, Lady Eliza, was a high-society party planner who arranged the Queen’s 80th birthday party, which took place only days before Harry and Meghan’s wedding.
Initially, Meghan was described fondly by the Queen. She exclaimed that she thought Meghan was “full of charm.”
However, by the time Harry and Meghan’s wedding day approached, she was singing a different tune. She claimed,
“We hope but don’t quite think she is in love. We think she engineered it all.”
We can see people having one of two reactions when they meet Meghan. They are either dazzled and intrigued by her or think she’s fake.
Kate Middleton and Prince William seemed to know Meghan’s number from the first time they met her. They thought she was extremely rude and intrusive.
The Queen had spoken of Harry defying traditional royal protocol in favor of pleasing Meghan for their wedding in May 2018.
Her Majesty admitted that during the wedding preparations, Meghan became very bossy and demanding. In other words, she was a “bridezilla.”
Meghan was also reportedly livid when she didn’t get to wear the emerald tiara she was so enchanted with.
Lady Eliza apparently told the journalist,
“It’s worrying that so many people are questioning whether Meghan was right for Harry. The problem, bless his heart, is that Harry is neither bright nor strong. She is both.”
The Queen had also apparently felt that Harry had ruined his relationship with her. Sally Bedell Smith wrote,
“The Queen never voiced her true opinions except to her closest confidants, such as Lady Eliza Anson.”
