In the case of Josh Duggar and the possession of child pornography, the prosecution is attempting to use his past against him. In his past, he was charged with molesting young girls when he was a teenager. Some of these girls were his sisters and they were sleeping when he molested them. His family has stood by him ever since, but now that there was child pornography found on his computers, some family members have bailed on him.
The Duggars: He Wants It Thrown Out
Duggar’s legal team has filed yet another motion to get his past thrown out of this trial. They feel that this has nothing to do with the current charges, but the prosecution disagrees. If Duggar has shown a pattern of this behavior, it seems like his past makes perfect sense to bring up, right?

Not only was Duggar receiving child pornography, but from the looks of it, he had it on multiple devices, including a computer at his car dealership. He has continued to say that he is innocent and his wife, Anna Duggar stands by him too. The couple are expecting their seventh child and her fans are not sure why she is standing by him.
In Duggar’s past, not only was he accused of molesting young girls, but then he admitted to being on a website that sets men up to cheat on their wives. When he admitted to being on this website, TLC cancelled 19 Kids and Counting, just as they did with Counting On when they heard these charges against Josh.
Josh has admitted once before that he has a pornography addiction and that he did, indeed, cheat on his wife. His wife made a statement back in 2015 about it on the Duggar Familly website.
During last week’s hearings, the prosecution brought up the fact that they were going to use Duggar’s past against him in this case. They feel like it is very important information for them to have and only shows what type of person he is.
The prosecution wrote, “If introduced, the government anticipates that the evidence will consist of testimony that the defendant was investigated for, admitted to, and received counseling for touching and sexually molesting multiple minor females.” They also want to show that he has a history that “shows an unusual disposition of the defendant- a sexual or sado-sexual interest in children- that simply does not exist in ordinary people.”
Duggar’s trial is scheduled for November 30.
