Talk about a mixed bag of emotions. There’s a new report that says Princess Beatrice is feeling absolutely devastated over her father Prince Andrew’s lawsuit. The Duke of York cannot visit Beatrice or her newborn daughter, as he is currently staying at Balmoral Castle in Scotland in the hopes that he doesn’t get extradited to the U.S. Here’s what you need to know.
A source close to the situation says that Prince Andrew, along with his daughter Beatrice and the rest of the family are devastated that he is yet to meet her newborn daughter. Beatrice gave birth to her first born over the weekend. Just recently, the Duke of York has been served legal papers over Virginia Roberts’ sexual assault case against him.
Princess Beatrice Devastated Over Father Prince Andrew’s Lawsuit
According to reports, Virginia’s attorney provided photos of Fed Ex receipts confirming the delivery of the lawsuit to the Duke of York’s attorney, Andrew B. Brettler, of the law firm Lavely and Singer. Federal law states the prince has 21 days to respond, or he could face a default judgment in the case.
An insider tells The Sun: “Andrew has made it quite clear that he wasn’t leaving Balmoral. It would appear the advice to him was to stay in hiding and miss the whole thing.”
If that weren’t enough, royal expert Camilla Tominey says that both Beatrice and her sister Princess Eugenie are going to feel the impact of their father’s legal woes the most.
She said on the This Morning show: “I think the fall-out from this ongoing saga, your heart has to go out for his daughters, Beatrice and Eugenie, who by all accounts are really lovely, very grounded, down-to-earth girls that are trying to get on with the rest of their lives. But I don’t think it’s an understatement to say that they’ve been left devastated by everything that’s gone on since that disastrous Newsnight interview.”
