No, this post has nothing to do with Meghan Markle, nor does Meghan Markle have anything to do with this post. There are new reports that say Queen Elizabeth’s new puppy, Fergus, has passed away at just 5 months old.
The puppy is said to be one of the two dogs that was gifted to the Queen this year when her husband Prince Philip was in the hospital. Here’s what you need to know.
Talk about a really rough year. Reports say that the puppy was named Fergus and was a dorgi, which is a corgi crossed with a dachshund. He was supposedly named after the Queen’s late uncle, Fergus Bowes-Lyon, who died during World War I. The other dog is named Muick, after one of her favorite spots near Balmoral Castle.

Needless to say, 2021 just hasn’t been Queen Elizabeth’s year. Her husband of 73 years, Prince Philip, passed away at the age of 99 in April. If that weren’t enough, the royal family has been making headlines for all of the wrong reasons lately, thanks to Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s seismic interview with Oprah Winfrey back in March.
What’s more, Prince Harry also slammed his own father Prince Charles by suggesting that his parenting skills were inadequate and that Charles was brought up the same way by Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip.
But as many fans know, Queen Elizabeth absolutely loves her corgis and even posed with them in honor of her 90thbirthday in a portrait taking by Anny Leibovitz.
“The most moving, important thing about this shoot is that these were all her ideas,” Leibovitz told Vanity Fair at the time. “She wanted to be photographed with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her husband, Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh; her daughter, Anne, the Princess Royal; and her corgis.”
