Prince Harry claims the Duke invited him to his wedding to Olivia Henson but has decided not to attend. Harry claims he and Meghan chose not to go to avoid controversy.
The Duke of Westminster and Harry grew up together, and it’s an absence that won’t go unnoticed. Hugh Grosvenor says he didn’t invite the Sussexes even though he wanted to.
Grosvenor Says That He Decided Against Inviting Prince Harry and Meghan
There is much controversy surrounding Omid Scobie’s book, “Endgame.” So, either Harry and Meghan bowed out gracefully, or the Duke of Westminster didn’t invite them.
The question of why Grosvenor would lie about not inviting them doesn’t make sense. He may have been pressured to choose William and Kate over Harry and Meghan. Ultimately, he must have known that inviting the Sussexes would overshadow his big day.
The royal racist accusations have been casting a dark cloud over the royal family as Harry and Meghan refuse to respond to Scobie’s allegations.
Meghan has told several sources that she did not collaborate with Scobie on this book as she did with him on “Finding Freedom.”
The Duke of Westminster’s diss is reminiscent of his sister, Lady Tamara Grosvenor’s wedding in 2004 when they invited Camilla Parker Bowles. Still, she was forced to sit away from King Charles so that Queen Elizabeth did not have to see the two of them sitting together.
They told Camilla she was to arrive at the wedding separately. A source close to Buckingham Palace said at the time,
“It may provoke comment on the day, but Her Majesty will also be attending, and she is a stickler for protocol. A pew will be marked for the members of the royal family attending, and it would be inappropriate for Mrs. Parker Bowles to sit beside Prince Charles since she has no official standing.”
The Children Miss Out
In other words, the Queen felt that it would be inappropriate for Camilla to arrive at the event with Prince Charles because (at the time) she had no status as a royal family member.
Harry’s story is that he received an invitation to the wedding but called Grosvenor and told him that he thought it would be “awkward” for him and Meghan to be present, given all the bombshells coming from Scobie’s book.
Hugh Grosvenor is marrying Olivia Henson at Chester Cathedral on June 7th. Grosvenor is also the godfather of Prince Archie and Prince George.
Unfortunately, Little Archie will miss out on the celebration. It is terrible that the royal rift is affecting the children. They will be left out of important family events, and eventually, they could even lose their titles.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will not be included if they persist in slandering the royal family. The rift between Harry and his brother Willam runs very deep. Sources close to Harry and Meghan have tried to protect them from the messy fallout.
Hugh and Olivia’s wedding is said to be the royal family event of the year. Unfortunately, due to the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s actions, they cannot attend.
