Prince Harry’s decision to attend the Invictus Games but not Prince Philip’s memorial has been called into question.

This news arrives on the back end of Harry’s concerns about not being able to fund his own security, which he had wanted prior to him arriving in the UK. As a result, he has turned his attention to other matters with the Invictus Games set to take place in The Hague in April.
While that is a noble cause in and of itself, given that injured members of the military have the opportunity to compete, Harry’s decision has raised a few eyebrows. A source said: “It was supposed to be a time for the family to all come together to remember a great man.
“Now none of that will go ahead – yet he is willing to travel to Holland for the Invictus Games, which is only 300-miles away. It will certainly raise eyebrows and most probably hurt feelings.”
In Harry’s defence, it Is important to bear in mind the following reasons. First of all, Harry does have a close connection to the military after having served in the British armed forces. He had served in Afghanistan, which suggests that this is a cause very close to his heart.
Secondly, if security is a genuine concern, then it has to be resolved given that he would be traveling with his wife Meghan Markle and their two children: Archie and Lilibet. And yet, the prospect of Queen Elizabeth not seeing her grandkids has been picked up on.
The source stated: “It was also hoped that the Queen would meet his daughter Lilibet for the first time and that would make it even more of a special occasion.” The response on social media was very brutal.
A certain subset of people could not believe that Harry would cut off his family for the sake of this event. One person wrote: “So he can go overseas to that and feel safe but not to the service honoring his grandfather. Isn’t that special. He’s disgusting. Trash taking the trash out.”
