Alison Sweeney might be making a comeback! We said goodbye to Sweeney back in 2014 after she played the part of Sami Brady DiMera in ‘Days of Our Lives’ for 21 years. Sweeney announced her exit from the daytime drama and Soap Opera on Ellen back in 2014. Now, just five years later, it looks as though Sweeney is gracing our screens again!
Sweeney first auditioned for ‘Days of Our Lives’ back in 1992. Her journey as Sami has since taken her through many story arcs, relationships and tensions. Since her exit, Sweeney has stared in a number of Hallmark Movies – many of which were filmed for the holiday season. Now it looks like fans might be in for another Sami treat.

Sweeney featured a behind-the-scenes photo as she filmed ‘Days of Our Lives’ back in December 2019 teasing fans around the country. Now, we wait for her new scenes to air in Summer 2020. Fans are speculating what her new story arc will be. How will Sami work her way back into the lives of Salem citizens? Will EJ finally commit to her? Regardless of the storyline that ensues, long-time Sami Brady DiMera fans are celebrating the news!

Due to a ‘Days of Our Lives’ filming hiatus, producers are hinting the upcoming Sami episodes should be airing between late August and early September. Unfortunately, it looks like we will still be waiting for another six months to see the brilliant of Alison Sweeney back on our favourite daytime show. However, know ‘Days of Our Lives’, it will likely be worth the wait!
