If Meghan Markle is feeling a lite a “winner” these days, it’s because she definitely is. That’s because there’s a new report that says the Duchess of Sussex has won yet another battle with the Mail on Sunday over the private letter that she wrote to her estranged father, Thomas Markle Sr. Here’s what you need to know.

As many fans know by now, Meghan Markle was none too pleased when the Mail on Sunday published a letter that was intended for the eyes of her father only.

It was a deeply personal letter that Thomas gave to the publication just so he could prove that he and his daughter were in communication and in retaliation to an article by People Magazine in which five of Meghan’s friends slammed Thomas and the Markle family for not being supportive enough to the Duchess.

And now Meghan has won her latest legal fight with the Associated Newspapers in her long running court case she brought following the publication of her private letter to her father after they printed parts of the letter.

The Duchess of Sussex won the copyright claim against the newspaper group – following an earlier victory in February on the claim for privacy infringement.

During a virtual session at the High Court in London this week, both Meghan’s former press secretary and lawyers acting for The Queen stated they did not claim copyright of the letter.

The Mail on Sunday’s legal team had argued Meghan was not the sole copyright holder of the letter because she had shared a draft of it with Jason Knauf, who was the senior communications chief at Kensington Palace at the time.

So far Meghan Markle herself has not made any comments about the matter.
