AshlEy is one of a handful of women who have decided to take legal action against the musician on the grounds of sexual assault. And given that an investigation is still ongoing, Ashley felt that it was not appropriate for Kanye to have him in his company.
And by doing this, she feels that Marilyn is not facing the consequences of his actions. In an interview with People magazine, she said: “The world doesn’t really care if you rape and if you beat and hurt all these (women).
“You can do whatever you want, basically, if you have money and you’re a guy, and you’re famous.” Ashley did not stop there, however. She then turned her attention towards Kanye by implying that he was enabling Marilyn’s conduct.
Such a strong statement does need a closer examination, but for Ashley, it is a case of Kanye giving Marilyn positive press when he is being accused of heinous crimes.
She added: “This man has to know that he is enabling a rapist. He’s enabling an abuser and not just (of) one girl.” And yet, it is important to note that this is not the first time that Marilyn has been in Kanye’s company.
He was present during the recent launch of the rapper’s new album ‘Donda.’ Therefore, they do have a friendship that goes some way. In addition, Kanye’s motives seem to be purely religious when we look at what went down.
According to reports, Justin Beiber decided to lead a prayer with Kanye and Marilyn stood behind him. It was seen as an attempt to unite people together through any hardship they had experienced.
Justin had apparently stated: “God thank you for your people… wrap us with your love, show us who you are… thank you, Jesus. We cast out any demonic activity that would try to steal our peace today or steal our joy.”
Kanye will be fully aware of what is going on with Marilyn in the media, but on reflection, he is focused on doing what he thinks is right.
