‘Jeopardy!’ champion Amy Schneider has just become a millionaire and is now the fourth highest Jeopardy! earner of all time- and she is yet to start raking in the cash at any of the tournaments outside regular gameplay, like the Tournament of champions.

On Friday, January 7, Amy won her 28th consecutive game, hitting the extraordinary million dollar milestone. So far she has amassed a massive $1,019, 600!

However, life isn’t all roses and greenbacks.

‘Jeopardy!’ champion Amy Schneider Becomes a Millionaire and Gets Robbed at Gunpoint.

Over the New Year weekend, Amy was held up at gunpoint in her home town of Oakland, California. Reaching out to her 52K+ followers on Twitter the following day, the champ let friends and fans know she was shaken but otherwise unharmed.

“Hi all! So first off: I’m fine. But I got robbed yesterday, lost my ID, credit cards and phone,” she wrote and admitted she had a hard time sleeping that nigh. She also apologized for not being able to live tweet the episode that Monday.

She further tweeted a few days later that she was also feeling ill.

So far it has not been the greatest 2022 for Amy, but we have a feeling her 2021 (when the Jeopardy! episodes we are currently watching were filmed), more than makes up for the challenges that have popped up during the start of this year.

Oakland police said in a statement they were still investigating the armed robbery that occurred on the afternoon of Sunday, January 2 and were yet to make any arrests.

Jeopardy! has issued a statement saying, “We were deeply saddened to hear about this incident, and we reached out to Amy privately to offer our help in any capacity.”

It is unknown at this stage if Amy was targeted by the robbers or if it was a “wrong place, wrong time” scenario.

Instead of dwelling on the negative, let’s congratulate Amy for becoming the 5th ever Jeopardy! Millionaire, the 4th to join the millionaire’s club through regular game play.

Watch Amy on Jeopardy! Weeknights on NBC!
