Geena Davis divulged what she deemed to be Bill Murray’s ‘unsuitable’ behaviour while on set, after the actress first exposed the purported episodes in her book, ‘Dying Of Politeness.’
Geena Davis Recalls Bill Murray’s Inappropriate Behaviour As He Demanded To Use A Massage Device On Her-‘Stop F***ing Asking Me, I Am Not Doing It’
The veteran actress, who is 66 years old, had a role in the 1990 crime comedy Quick Change alongside the 72-year-old comedian and discussed the supposed harassment. In her comments, she said: “[There was a] giant massage device with big handles on it.”
Murray reportedly said: “Lay down here. I wanna try it on you,” to which Gina replied: “I’m like, “No, no, no thank you.” And he keeps at it. And I keep saying “No” to the point where I would’ve had to scream at him, “Stop f***ing asking me! I am not doing it. Do you understand?”
Davis asserted that the co-director and producer who were present in the hotel suite failed to take any action or issue any admonishment. Not only that, but Gina ended up allowing Bill to get what he wanted for a short amount of time, something which has stayed with her to this day.
This is particularly since she felt she may have been manipulated by him on the basis of a power trip. Her following comments confirmed as much: “So I perched on the corner of the bed and let him do it, and he did it for like one second, and then didn’t ask how I liked it or anything.
“So I realized it was just to see if he could force me to do something inappropriate.” The social media response suggested that Geena could have done more to counter what Murray had done. And as a result, they suggested that she should have taken proactive measures.
