The ex-chief of the Metropolitan Police responsible for safeguarding the Royal Family has argued that the documentary series created by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex on Netflix has increased the risk of the Royals being targeted by extremists.

Dai Davies commented that some of the statements made in the programme could have generated a plausible danger. Davies has declared that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s show which censured their family members based on racial issues has created a potential hazard.
He brought up the recent occurrences in which eggs were pelted at King Charles III as potential indications of how attitudes towards the Royal Family had become more hostile. After all, it happened on not one but two separate occasions.
In his comments, Davies said: “Because their narrative has been attached to race to the extent it has, you could have those at the extreme end of the ‘taking the knee’ variety having a go at members of the Royal family.”
The couple’s docuseries has raised some controversy. The Duke of Sussex disclosed that his relatives had wondered why Meghan required more security than other prominent individuals.
In addition, Harry was reprimanded for not intervening to keep his wife from carrying out an elaborate curtsy, which was supposedly a ‘mocking’ of the late Queen Elizabeth II.
The response on social media was mixed. A certain subnet felt that Davies’ words had gone overboard. Meanwhile, others were of the view that such bitterness could create a situation where the Sussexes became fixated on trying to bash the royals, as opposed to having their own credible brand.
One person wrote: “They don’t care. Harry & especially Meghan seem like petty, shallow people more interested in revenge and power.” On balance, there is always going to be risk posed to members of royalty by virtue of their standing. But whether the docuseries increases that is anyone’s guess.
