Numerous colleagues from the hit TV show ‘Dancing with the Stars’ have shown their support to ‘Maksim Chmerkovskiy’ in light of the Russia-Ukraine war.

Maksim, for his part, is connected to the franchise by virtue of the fact that he is a judge on the Ukrainian version of the show.

And given that he is Ukrainian, coupled with the fact that he is currently in the country, it is understandable that he is going through a lot during this time. And in order to show some solidarity, the DWTS family were on hand to make sure that he was fine.

Lindsay Arnold, who happens to be a professional dancer on the American version of the show, had this to say: “Everyone stop what you are doing and please please pray for my friend @maksimc and all those in danger RIGHT now in Ukraine.”

Much in the same way, Sharna Burgess had also expressed support for Maksim. And given that she recently announced that she was pregnant, she understands the pain that could emerge if you have to stand by and watch your loved ones suffer.

After all, Maksim made it clear that the majority of his family are in Ukraine, and unlike him, they do not have the luxury of having access to another passport. In a post on Instagram, Sharna revealed: “I love you and am praying for you.”

Nevertheless, not everyone has been so receptive to how Maksim has been feeling. His former dance partner on the show, Kirstie Alley had recently tweeted that it was not possible to judge exactly what was going on, given the nature of misinformation out there.

As a result, she was of the view that the best thing to do was to pray. And that did not go down well with Maksim, as it was interpreted as a sign of her endorsing Russian aggression by staying neutral.

In a statement in response, Maksim remarked: “Dear Kirstie, we haven’t spoken in a while, but I clearly remember…you were saying to me about situations where innocent are suffering. No one needs your prayer.”
