Actor Jonathan Majors, who was recently convicted of assault and harassment against his ex-girlfriend Grace Jabbari, gave his first interview with Linsey Davis of ABC News Live after the incident. This marks his initial public appearance since the verdict was delivered last month.

Following his conviction, Disney/Marvel Studios, a sister division of ABC, quickly removed him from the Marvel universe. Despite the news, representatives for Majors and the Manhattan District Attorney’s office remained unresponsive when contacted by Deadline regarding the ABC interview.

The New York jury found him guilty of reckless assault and harassment in his domestic violence trial on December 18th, leading to his immediate removal from the role of Kang in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

His sentencing is scheduled for February 6th, and he could face up to a year in prison, although probation, counseling, and a fine are anticipated outcomes.

ABC News plans to extensively feature the interview, premiering it on Good Morning America on Monday. An extended version of the interview will be available for streaming on ABC News Live’s Prime with Linsey Davis later that evening. ABC News Studios’ IMPACT x Nightline will also air a half-hour special featuring additional content from the interview, starting on Hulu on January 11th.

It may seem a bit odd that Majors is getting all of this publicity after being convicted of assault, and you’d be right to think so. However, because he was involved in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, he has seemingly been lifted to a higher dimension than anyone else, and ABC is prepared to use his star power for ratings.

Majors had a promising career, but it looks as though it may have been stopped before it could take off. Of course, it comes through the fault of his own actions.

What do you think? Were you a fan of Majors in the MCU and why do you think he’s getting all of this publicity after the incident? Let us know in the comments below.
