Things have been heating up in Salem for Xander Cook (Paul Telfer) and ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) spoilers are looking forward to seeing how he’s going to get out of trouble this time.
We’re still wondering why he was selected to be Clyde Weston (James Read)’s fall guy since there’s no proof Clyde’s behind the drug problem in Salem, and we hope there will be a cool explanation coming.
But we have to admit it could be worth it since it looks like Xander will be taking a different approach to proving his innocence instead of threatening to bludgeon someone or wait for it to happen.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers – New direction
The new writers appear to have decided to move Xander in a new direction and way from being a thug as he continues to grow into Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston)’s heir.
Paul Telfer did an interview with Soap Opera Digest where he talked about how Xander’s going to use the Spectator and its journalistic resources to clear his name.
Of course, he’s got a couple legal hurdles to get over like bail, but it looks like Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) will secure that despite the weapon used to shoot Harris Michaels (Steve Burton) being found in his apartment.
He explained that until the gun was planted and found Xander thought it was a misunderstanding and how there’s a cool storyline coming because of it.
“It actually sets off a fun little story line for me where Xander gets to use The Spectator’s assets to basically investigate and be smart for a change, which I quite enjoyed.”
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers – Xander uses his brains
It’s great seeing something new with Xander as he’ll think before he acts, and we may have Sarah Horton (Linsey Godfrey)’s influence, which it kind of a surprise given how she goes from one extreme to the other with him.
“Xander basically goes away and tries to work out who’s set him up and who’s framed him. He uses the various journalistic things at his disposal now. So that was nice as well to not just be waiting for the plot to rescue me.”
This looks like a definite building block to moving him up the ladder to prove worthy of being Victor’s heir, so when it comes to taking over Titan and replacing Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) he’ll take it in stride and have a fighting chance.
