‘Days of Our Lives’ spoilers Last Friday’s episode of DOOL was so much fun to watch because we got to see the extent of EJ DiMera’s (Dan Feurreigel) brilliance.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: EJ Wasn’t Afraid to Go After Sophia for Her Transgressions
EJ replaced Belle Black (Martha Madison) as Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman) and Chanel Dupree DiMera (Raven Bowens) in their court hearing to adopt baby Trey DiMera (Joseph Ilenf and Jordan Perdue).
He walked into the room guns blazing and wasn’t afraid to go after teen troublemaker, Sophia Choi (Rachel Boyd), who arrived at the hearing to tell the judge she didn’t want Johnny and Chanel to raise her baby.
EJ pointed out the laundry list of Sophia’s immoral deeds. Plus, she didn’t even want to take Trey home herself. In fact, the teen never wanted to claim him as her own until Johnny and Chanel tossed their hats into the ring.
Sophia’s spite knows no bounds as she wanted to cruelly rip Trey away from his second and what will (hopefully) be his forever home.
EJ ripped Sophia a new a**hole, which she deserved. Sophia tried to accuse Johnny and Chanel of being unfit parents. However, EJ, the master of intimidation, proved to the judge that Sophia was faking a psychiatric condition.
He explained that her only motive was to punish Johnny and Chanel. While the couple had previously backed out of the adoption, their track record as Trey’s guardians was flawless.
The reason that Johnny didn’t want to adopt Sophia’s baby the first time around was that he had just learned that EJ had raped his mother, Sami Brady (Alison Sweeny), which resulted in his conception.
Johnny’s worst fear was that he might end up like his father. Chanel wanted to pursue the adoption, but he put it on hold, leading Sophia to want vengeance against them.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: EJ Presented a Compelling Argument and Won
EJ coming to Johnny and Chanel’s rescue was such a poignant, full-circle moment for Johnny and EJ. Now, Johnny has decided he wants a relationship with his father again.
EJ was his magnificent and impressive self and presented the judge with a compelling case for his son and daughter-in-law to move forward with their plans to adopt Trey and make him part of their family.
Of course, EJ won his argument. It was satisfying to watch a wrecked Sophia realize that she wouldn’t get her way as she panicked and had to be escorted out of the room.
After all, she was only acting out of selfishness and spite, wanting to punish Johnny and Chanel for a situation she refused to even try to understand.
EJ truly showed up for Johnny and Chanel when it counted. The question now is: can Chanel forgive EJ for what he tried to do to her at Johnny’s trial?
It looks like it’s all water under the bridge for Johnny and EJ. After the hearing, EJ looked sweetly upon the baby and said, “Welcome to the family, Trey.”
While EJ can sometimes make his own selfish choices, he really does value his family above all else. It’s clear that EJ loves his son more than words can say and would do anything to protect the people he loves.
