Coronation Street spoilers have rumoured that bosses at the ITV soap are lining up a stunning love triangle storyline for the upcoming 60th anniversary. Coronation Street has been a mainstay on British television throughout its history, and reports have revealed that bosses will go all out to ensure that the special episodes towards the end of this year are ones that will be remembered for the next 60 years.
Fans of the ITV soap will be delighted that the soap won’t be going off the air anytime soon, as the show have recently resumed filming for the first time since March. There had been fears that Corrie was awaiting the same fate as EastEnders, with fans fearing being without the soap for months. However, that will not be the case.

It will be a big December for Coronation Street as the soap will have a month of huge episodes. There will be the typical massive storylines around the Christmas and New Year’s Eve time of the year, but also this year there will be the 60th anniversary special too. The boss of the soap, Iain MacLeod has teased that fans will love the special anniversary episodes.
Speaking about what fans can expect, he revealed that one of the stories will be focused around a human interest theme. He revealed that fans could narrow down what they are expecting, as the story emerges from something that is happening in the soap now. Meanwhile, he also teased that a good old fashioned love triangle will also be a big part of the episodes.

It was also revealed recently that certain plans for the anniversary special have needed to change due to the impact of the coronavirus. According to reports, Corrie bosses were hopeful of shooting something on location for the anniversary, but that will no longer be the case due to the social distancing measures that are implemented at present.
MacLeod stopped short of revealing the characters that will be involved in the love triangle later in the year. But, viewers will be hopeful that there could finally be a happy ending for Emma Brooker, with Emma becoming one of the fan’s favourites despite being unlucky in love. Maybe there is finally a chance for Emma to get the man of her dreams.
